Support Portland Worker’s Rights Center
Use your voice to keep funding for the MLK Jr. Worker Center!
The MLK Jr. Worker Center, run by Voz Workers’ Rights Education Project, connects workers with local employers and job sites.
In the past, City funding for the Center was $25,000 a year. This year, City Commissioner Fritz requested to increase that amount to $30,000––but the City Budget Office’s 2014-2015 recommendations are to cut all support for the Center instead.
Join the letter writing campaign organized by Voz and let City Commissioners know that you support workers and want the MLK Jr. Worker Center to stay open.
With Commissioner Fritz already in support of the Center, Voz recommends sending letters to Commissioner Fish and Commissioner Saltzman.
