Free DACA workshop on Tuesday, May 13th.

DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, renewals are coming up, and it’s time to get prepared.

To learn about current DACA renewal information, come to a Beyond DACA workshop hosted by ILG at the Kenton Library on Tuesday, May 13th, 6:30pm-8pm.

The event is free and open to the public. Though renewal forms for DACA are not yet available, we think that USCIS will release updated forms at the end of this month–that means the time to act is now!

Current DACA grants will begin to expire in September 2014. If you are currently a DACA recipient, you should start thinking about renewing. But don’t worry, the renewal process is very similar to your first application process. To learn more about the DACA renewal process, read our renewal  update and updated FAQ.

If you aren’t a current DACA recipient, that’s okay too. Come to the workshop to learn about the benefits of DACA and how to get the most out of your grant. As a DACA recipient, you have increased access to financial aid and scholarships, and employment opportunities. With DACA, you can get a social security number, a drivers license, a bank account, and even apply for a credit card!

If you came to the United States before turning 16 and have lived here for the past five years, you might qualify for DACA. Come and learn more by joining ILG at our workshop on May 13th. And stay prepared by subscribing for updates from our DACA email list.
