Washington counties leave ICE out
Many Washington counties have voluntarily stopped honoring ICE detainers! Check out this update on Washington counties, including which counties are no longer honoring ICE holds, from the Northwest Immigrants Rights Project (NWIRP).
NWIRP is the leading immigrant rights non-profit in Washington. After Oregon’s case decision resulted in a wave of county policy changes regarding police-ICE collaboration, NWIRP asked Washington county sheriffs to follow suit and change their practices.
Washington is the fourth state with recent and widespread county changes, together with Oregon, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
