Deferred Action: One-Step Processing
Filing for Deferred Action in one appointment.
To make it easier for you to get a Deferred Action application filed, we’ve made it simpler to get legal services from us! Eligible youth can now schedule an appointment with one of the lawyers and have their Deferred Action application prepared and ready for filing in one appointment. No more waiting for appointments or call-backs!
How does it work? It’s simple. First, take the self-screen. Keep track of your rank (1, 2 or 3).
Second, call our office (503.241.0035). Tell the receptionist that you are interested in a Deferred Action one-step appointment. She might ask you your self-screen rank. Be sure to have your contact phone number and email address ready to give her. We will schedule you for the first available appointment.
Third, pretty soon after you schedule the appointment, we will call you & confirm your eligibility. We will send you a comprehensive list of documents you will need to bring (check it out here).
Then, show up to your appointment! The appointments are long – about 2 hours.
There is a fee for representation with Deferred Action applications. If you think you might be eligible for pro bono services, tell us — details on pro bono services are available here.
