What’s the news about Executive Action?

In May the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit denied the request to temporarily suspend the preliminary injunction against the Executive Action President Obama announced last November of 2014 (DAPA and expanded DACA). This decision does not mean that the Executive Action has been permanently restricted, but it continues being temporarily on hold until the Court of Appeals for issues a decision about whether or not the programs are constitutional.

There was a hearing on July 10, but an immediate decision is not expected and there is no deadline for them to make a decision or issue an opinion after the hearing. This decision can take weeks or even months.

While you wait, we recommend that you continue to save money for application fees, organize your documents, and educate yourself about your immigration options.

You can find here more information about what is happening with the lawsuit.
